More Colorado

The majority of people I've met since moving to the Denver area are from other parts of the country. Most have said that this is the best move they've ever made. Which helps me feel comfortable in my decision to settle here. Probably the best comment I heard was from Jim, my neighbor 2 houses to the west. He's a retired Ford employee having moved from the Detroit area. He rues the fact that it took him so long to get here, but, he also adds,"I have a lot of life ahead of me to live and, by God, I'm going to do it." I like that sentiment and my plan is to do the same.

Moved!

It's snowing and it's starting to look like a typical Ohio winter. The only difference is that when the sun comes out the mountains show up and we realize that we're not in Kansas, nor Ohio any more. M K Morris Illustration is now located in a suburb of Denver, Colorado and we're thrilled to be here. Toni and I bought a house in Highlands Ranch, situated in the southwest Denver metro area and about 4 miles from the foothills/front range of the Rockies. I have to admit that it's quite inspiring to wake up to such a beautiful view.!

Portfolio Update

Happy New Year, everyone. It's taken me a little while but the first update of 2010 has been accomplished. There aren't too many new pieces added but I did rearrange a few things, inserted a new album and loaded the full collaboration of art that I did with my son - who's seven years old at this time. Carson did a bunch of drawings, I scanned them into my computer and rendered them in my fashion (with a lot of art direction by him). It was a really fun project and I'm hoping to do it again sometime in the future.

Stay Tuned For New Portfolio Work

It's been long overdue for me to add new portfolio pieces to my site and they will be arriving here as soon I finish organizing and formatting the images. The gallery page has changed slightly and is now viewable either piece by piece or as a slideshow. One gallery I'm really excited about sharing is a collaboration between my seven year old son, Carson and myself. Carson did buckets full of drawings and I rendered a bunch of them in my particular style - creating a unique hybrid. I can't help but be extremely proud of the young man and the work he allowed me to be a part of.
